Why every woman should do a boudoir photo session!

So, this is aimed directly at the women (sorry men!) and will be incredibly transparent for me.

Every woman (and I do mean EVERY woman) should do at least one boudoir session in their life! As a photographer these are my favorite sessions to do but as a woman these are the scariest sessions to have taken. I’ve only done one so far, and I’ll post some images below, but it was incredibly intimidating.

Every woman has her reasons for not doing a boudoir session but there are so many reasons why they should.

One reason I’ve heard is “I’m not in good enough shape”. This reason (although it was my reason as well) is total nonsense!! The main reason to do a boudoir session is to fall in love with yourself just how you are. You are gorgeous no matter what shape you are!

Another reason I’ve heard is “I’m single, who would these even be for?”. Oh honey, these are for you!! You don’t have to have someone to feel worth something. If you would do these for your significant other why wouldn’t you do them for yourself?

I’ve also heard “I’d be too uncomfortable”. This one I completely get (remember I said it was intimidating for me)! I was so uncomfortable when I did mine but by the end I felt like a GODDESS! When I saw the images my self esteem skyrocketed. Something about seeing yourself rock your body is amazing!

There are so many reasons to do a boudoir session and they end up helping self esteem so much. Plus, if you’re not wanting to do one alone, there are also couples boudoir sessions! Couples boudoir sessions can bring a whole new level of intimacy to your relationship. My session was a maternity boudoir session and I loved it. I was already proud of my body for what it was doing but after seeing my images it made me feel so much stronger and confident!
