Mom Life

on

Here’s the truth, no mom has it all together. Sorry not sorry. If you’ve seen a mom and she seems to have it all together, trust me when I say, it’s just for the moment. I don’t care how many kids she has she does not have it all together all the time.

Right now I am a mom of one, very sassy, year and a half old girl. In the moment that I’m writing this I am sitting in a Target parking lot eating ice cream and watching a Disney film while she sleeps in the back seat. Today her and I went to run errands together. We, obviously, didn’t make it home by nap time. We had lunch with my best friend and, that little sassy girl, she screamed and cried all through it.

This momma didn’t make sure we had enough milk for her (I thought we’d be home sooner) so we started hitting up drive-thru after drive-thru to get her milk. After two failed attempts (and a scratched up rim) we found her milk. I gave it to her and no more than 5 minutes later she was fast asleep. Now I’m sitting here eating my “all momma’s have bad days” ice cream and watching the movie I brought to keep her happy.

Today, I didn’t have it all together. Not even close. So the next time you see a momma crying in a parking lot while their kid throws a fit, or struggling to get through lunch with a friend as the baby screams, or anything like that, don’t stare. Don’t scoff. Tell her she’s doing a great job and tomorrow will be better. Whatever you do, don’t make her feel worse. Trust me, her anxiety is high enough without your judgement.

And to all the mommas out there, from me to you, you’re rocking this mom life!!
