So, I know that dating your spouse is very important but what about family date nights? In our house we try to have at least two family date nights a month. Usually, our family date nights consist of pizza and a movie at home.

We keep our family date nights at home just to keep the kids in a place that they’re comfortable with in case they get tired or bored. If we’re at home they can run around if they get bored without distracting strangers from their dinner or movie.

The reason we do these “date nights” are so that our children see how important family time is. With my husband’s work schedule we don’t always have time to sit down to a quiet family dinner, some nights it’s eating and going straight to bed depending on what time he gets home. These nights allow us to shut off social media and phones and just be together.

These nights are just as important to us as the nights my husband and I go out alone. We always want our children to know that they are not just put in our lives to do things for us or just live with us until they leave on their own journeys but that they are just as important to us as we are to them and that we love and care deeply for them.
